One of the core objectives of the CPS is to stimulate and organize research and study of police issues. This does not necessarily mean that scientific research is carried out within the CPS. After all, since 2010, the CPS no longer conducts any research itself, but what the association does wish to achieve is, on the one hand, to signal useful research themes to clients of scientific research on the occasion of the theme setting.
On the other hand, the Centre wants to take initiatives that allow to valorize the results of scientific research and to translate them into policy and police practice. The CPS can encourage research centers and groups to initiate certain scientific research. For example, the CPS organizes conferences in collaboration with academic partners with the aim of valorizing and disseminating research results. The association itself is committed to promoting research into and by the police. It does this, for example, by increasing the accessibility of research settings and data.
