The Centre for Policing and Security and Vanden Broele Publishers, two players with an important role in the development and sharing of knowledge for the police and security services, join forces as from 2020.
Close cooperation in various fields will lead to an even stronger knowledge offer: even more broadening and deepening of the content, in combination with even more efforts to get that content to all parties involved in the most effective way. The goal? To arm them even more effectively against the challenges of the security sector, by helping them to meet those challenges in a knowledgeable manner.
In January 2020, Dirk Van Daele (chairman of CPS) and Bart Keirse (Publisher at Vanden Broele Publishers) signed a cooperation agreement that will result in a stronger knowledge offer for police and security services.
From 2020 the CPS and Vanden Broele Publishers will be joining forces: a strong anchoring within the sector, an extensive network, extensive substantive expertise and the know-how to get the right information to the right person in the right way.
Productive collaboration for both partners
Thanks to its collaboration with Vanden Broele Publishers, the CPS can count on a knowledge partner that has long since broken through the wall of traditional publishing and, with its innovative online platforms (such as BlueConnect), is able to obtain knowledge from all those involved in the most effective way. Dirk Van Daele: “The wide range of offline and online channels that Vanden Broele Publishers masters will help the CPS to successfully pursue its objectives at the crossroads of the security sector, the police and society.
For its part, Vanden Broele Publishers can count on the substantive input of a second strategic partner, following the productive collaboration with the Circle of Police Leadership (CPL) that was launched in 2016. Thanks to the additional input of the CPS, Vanden Broele Publishers is able to consolidate and expand its entire range of knowledge for police officers. Bart Keirse: “The extra knowledge injection from CPS, on top of that from CPL, will allow us to match the needs of the stakeholders even better with an even broader range of knowledge.
Win-win for police and security services
But it goes without saying that the police and security services themselves are the main beneficiaries of this cooperation. They will be able to reap the first benefits in the coming months, in the form of a series of practical conferences and training courses, a new book series and a further expansion of BlueConnect, the online knowledge point for the police.
Even more content broadening and deepening go hand in hand with even more efforts to get that content to all those involved in the most effective way. The goal? To arm them even more effectively against the challenges of the security sector, by helping them to face those challenges in full knowledge of the facts.
Growing organizations, that is the challenge we as Vanden Broele Publishers have been taking on for more than 60 years. We do this by allowing organizations and their employees to work smarter, more efficiently and more customer-oriented. In doing so, we focus resolutely on practical knowledge sharing and tools … and we are always looking for the ideal mix between traditional and new media. Also for police and security services. For example, BlueConnect, our online knowledge point for the police, goes hand in hand with training and conferences, the quarterly magazine Blue Minds and practical books. In doing so, we break far beyond the traditional publishing box.
